Why sometimes you just need to get lost in order to find yourself.

Updated: May 14, 2018

When your surrounded by problems and conflict. And who isn't? Being human in the 21st century pretty much guarantees that you will be faced with some sort of difficulty on this journey called life, weather it be big or small. But the point is not to let this conflict consume you. For I have witness many succumb to humdrum of society, and have come to realize personal solace can do the soul a well of good. Meaning sometimes you just need to get away from everything. And I don't mean taking some arduous journey to the Himalayas to find yourself ( though that sounds like an amazing idea). For me, getting lost could simply mean ebbing off into a good book or movie.

I think sometimes we forget how easily a good song can respark the imagination, revive the dreamer drowning under conflict. Jump-start the story begging for ideas. It's why books and movies continue to do so well, despite their being only so many stories to tell. Escapism is a human necessity. Majority of humans need a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of life.Hence the notion of getting lost in order to find ourselves.

Not to say ones problems will magically float away. But perhaps after a moment of revitalization the world wont look so bleak, and we realize that it's just another cloudy day and that the sun is bound to come out later in the week.
